Warriors Path State Park Announces Lineup of Winter Activities, Including Survival Skills Workshop and Tree Plantation Event

Warriors Path State Park Preps for Exciting Winter Activities

Kingsport, TN– Warriors Path State Park, located in Kingsport, Tennessee, unveils an exciting lineup of late winter activities to keep nature enthusiasts and adventurers busy. Known for organizing diverse outdoor programs throughout the year, the park promises an engaging and educational experience.

Upcoming Events

The roster of activities includes a fun and challenging experience on using a flint and steel to start a fire on February 22. This traditional survival skill is an adventurous substitute for modern conveniences.

On February 24, the community will join hands in a rejuvenation project titled, ‘Adopt a Tree’. The event is aimed at promoting tree plantation and nurturing tomorrow’s forests across Northeast Tennessee.

On the same day, the park will also celebrate the ‘Full Snow Moon’, allowing visitors to enjoy a scenic hike whilst relishing Moon Pies.

One of the events to look forward to is a workshop on ‘Knot Tying’ scheduled for February 29. This activity provides a unique opportunity for learning several useful knots.

Weeding Out The Unwanted

In a bid to conserve biodiversity, a Garlic Mustard Pull event is to occur on March 2. This activity is crucial in the removal of the destructive Garlic Mustard plant that chokes wildflowers and is toxic to butterfly larvae.

Celebrating Spring Arrival

Warriors Path State Park is also planning activities that signal the arrival of spring. The Frog Watch at Jacob’s Nature Park on March 14 promises a delightful night field trip loaded with a concert of frog sounds.

Nature Festival & Hiking Adventures

Enthusiasts can expect the 45th Annual Spring Nature Festival on April 12, offering activities that include talks and hikes focused on wildlife tracking, night skies, and spring wildflowers.

The park will also offer a challenging yet rewarding 8-mile hiking adventure on April 20 titled ‘Wildflowers & Waterfalls’.

Summer Delights

From June to August, Warriors Path State Park gears up for ‘Summer in the Park’ featuring a plethora of outdoor fun and educational activities. These include hikes, wildlife discoveries, folklore learning, and more.

All these activities are free of charge and open to the public. Detailed information and registration for the activities are available at the park’s official website. This ongoing initiative by Warriors Path State Park reflects their commitment to promote environmental consciousness, outdoor activities, and community building.
