VFW Post 2166 and Auxiliary Take Initiative to Provide Food for Veterans

An Outstanding Partnership

The compassionate team at VFW Post 2166 and the Post Auxiliary are coming together with the renowned Second Harvest Food Bank to arrange a food distribution. This grand event, held specifically for veterans and their families in need of assistance, is scheduled for Friday, July 12, at 2 p.m. It will take place at the VFW Post located at 2001 West Elk Ave.

Instructions for Attendees

The attendees of the food distribution should ensure they have ample room in their trunks for the food box. Once they arrive in line at the post, they must pop their trunk. Participants can remain safely in their vehicles while their trunk is loaded with the food box. To ensure the health and safety of everyone involved, the entire distribution will be conducted sans person-to-person contact.

Advance Registration for Accurate Supply

Second Harvest has efficiently charted a requirement for the approximate number of food boxes needed. Veteran families are thus encouraged to reach out to David Batchelder at the Carter County Veterans Service Office, to sign up for the food distribution. Advance registration will ensure there is adequate supply of food boxes to meet every demand, and that no veteran family goes home empty-handed.
