Artist Tricia Tripp Teams Up with Believe in Bristol for Downtown Mural

Bristol, Va — Downtown Bristol is soon going to be a whole lot more colorful. Thanks to a new mural set to be painted at the Johnny Wood Plaza, locals and visitors will get to enjoy gorgeous new artwork featuring scenes of vibrant flowers, including some that are native to our region.

This project is a collaboration between artist Tricia Tripp and the organization Believe in Bristol. It’s all part of a larger effort to spruce up the downtown area and make it a more inviting place for everyone.

When we spoke with Tripp, she shared her vision for the mural and how she hopes it will benefit the community. “Improving the community will hopefully attract visitors back,” she said. “Make it inviting for everyone to come in and enjoy space, give them artwork, give them comfortable spaces, give them a place where they can sit and relax and enjoy the beauty of what’s around them.”

Tripp has set an ambitious timeline for the project; she aims to complete the mural before the upcoming Rhythm and Roots Festival, a beloved event that draws crowds from all over. That way, festival-goers will be greeted by the fresh, eye-catching artwork as soon as they arrive.

The design will incorporate native flowers, blending together local flora with Tripp’s own modern artistic style. This fusion will not only celebrate the natural beauty of the region but will also add a contemporary flair to the downtown area.

Community feedback has already been overwhelmingly positive. Local business owners and residents alike are excited about the upcoming changes. One business owner near Johnny Wood Plaza mentioned that they are thrilled about the new mural. “It’s going to be a great attraction for our customers and the community.”

For those unfamiliar, Believe in Bristol is an organization dedicated to the revitalization and economic development of the downtown area. They have been behind several initiatives aimed at making Bristol a vibrant community for both residents and visitors. This latest project with Tricia Tripp is another step in that direction, offering a splash of color and creativity to the town’s landscape.

In addition to being visually appealing, the mural will also serve as a functional space to relax and unwind. Seating will be added around the mural, providing a comfortable spot for people to sit, take photos, and just enjoy the surroundings.

This mural is more than just a piece of art; it’s a symbol of community effort and local pride. When completed, it will stand as a testament to what can be achieved when people come together with a shared vision for their community. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, the mural at Johnny Wood Plaza is sure to be a highlight.

If you’re interested in watching the progress, stay tuned. Tripp and her team will be working on the mural over the next few weeks, and locals are welcome to stop by and see this work of art come to life.

So next time you find yourself in downtown Bristol, make sure to swing by Johnny Wood Plaza. You might just catch a glimpse of Tripp in action or witness the final touches being added to what promises to be a stunning piece of community artwork.

Stay connected for more updates on this project and other initiatives aimed at brightening up our community. It’s exciting to see Bristol evolve and grow, one beautiful addition at a time.
