Thanksgiving Festivities Light Up Bristol with Ice Skating and Dazzling Holiday Lights

Thanksgiving Fun Awaits in Bristol!

As the Thanksgiving holiday draws near, families in Bristol are looking for fun activities to keep everyone entertained during the break. Look no further than the Tri-Cities Airport Ice Rink, presented by Stateline Services! This charming ice skating rink, conveniently located at the Bristol Motor Speedway Entrance 1 in the North Lot, is set to be a highlight of the season.

Skate Into the Holiday Spirit

Opening most nights until January 12, this ice rink is the perfect place to gather the family for some festive fun. Whether you’re a seasoned skater or just getting your feet wet, there’s something for everyone. Admission is easy on the wallet too—only $12 per skater from Monday to Thursday, and $15 on Fridays through Sundays. However, make note of the ice rink being closed on Mondays from November 18 to December 16.

Before you lace up, it’s wise to check the BMS website for the operating hours, which can vary. Want to secure your spot? Reservations can be made online for a hassle-free experience!

A Glow of Lights and Magic

While you’re there, don’t miss the dazzling 28th Annual Food City Speedway In Lights, powered by TVA. This incredible holiday light show is not just a treat for the eyes; it’s also a vital fundraiser for the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities. It’s been called the premier holiday display in the Appalachian Highlands, showcasing over 3 million lights across a stunning five-mile route with more than 300 displays!

As you cruise through the spectacular light show, you’ll enjoy sights along the historic Bristol Dragway and even take a lap around the iconic half-mile oval of Bristol Motor Speedway. What a unique way to soak in the holiday cheer!

New Pricing, New Excitement

For 2024, the Food City Speedway in Lights has introduced dynamic pricing—meaning the cost varies depending on the night of the week and the time you visit. Expect to pay anywhere from $20 to $35 per car! Be sure to peep the Food City Speedway in Lights webpage for specific prices on your chosen night.

And don’t forget to take advantage of the many available discounts and coupons for visits from Sunday to Thursday. If you’re coming with a larger group, vans can join in the fun for just $85 and buses for $150! For those eager to skip the long lines, there’s even a Fast Lane presented by Citi option—available for $75 on select nights.
