SkyLine/SkyBest Offers Reward for Information on Vandalism

Incidents of Vandalism in Carter County

Two separate acts of vandalism marked May and June in West Jefferson, N.C., as fiber-optic cables were sabotaged in Carter County. The affected company, SkyLine/SkyBest, is now offering a generous reward in return for information regarding these criminal acts.

On May 22, the company discovered an instance of vandalism along Tiger Creek. This harmful action resulted in three cut cables, which appeared to be sliced with either an ax or a hatchet. Barely a month later, on June 10, another act of vandalism was encountered in the Little Milligan Community along Highway 321. This time, two cables were shot with a shotgun.

These acts of unwanted damage result in severe financial costs and installation setbacks for the company, significantly hampering its operations and customer satisfaction. The main purpose of SkyLine/SkyBest is to provide a seamless, high-quality broadband connection to its consumers and ensure service needs are swiftly addressed.

Reward Announced for Relevant Information

With an aim to catch the vandal(s) and deter such future incidents, SkyLine/SkyBest is offering a reward. To those who provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of the involved person(s), the company will give a reward of $5000. This initiative hopes to encourage the community to assist in sharing crucial leads about the culprits behind these criminal acts.

All information regarding the reckless destruction of cables can be reported either directly to the Carter County Sheriff’s Office or through the SkyLine/SkyBest tip line. Individuals can either call toll-free at 1-888-752-4447 or the local number at 336-876-6559.

It’s worth noting that the reward will only be given for information that leads to an arrest and resultant conviction of the perpetrator(s). The company is enthusiastic about receiving assistance from the community in these matters.

Restoration Efforts Underway

In the meantime, as the investigation into the vandalism charges continues along with efforts to find the culprit(s), the SkyLine/SkyBest company employees remain committed to restoring and completing the fiber-optic cable expansion project across both sites. Despite the unfortunate delays due to these regretful incidents, the company has vowed to stay resilient and maintain the quality of its services.

While instances of vandalism usually serve to be distressing for all community members, SkyLine/SkyBest hopes this reward offer will bring them one step closer to resolving the issue and increasing security to prevent any similar actions in the future.
