Johnson City, Tenn. — Big news for all you coffee lovers out there! Scooter’s Coffee is planning to open a new location in the Boones Creek area by the end of this year. This drive-through coffee spot will be the first of its kind in Johnson City, adding another delicious option for your daily caffeine fix.
Local franchise owner Blake McDavid shared the exciting details about the new venture. “We’re planning to break ground any day now and we’ll be targeting an open by the end of November or beginning of December,” McDavid said. He already operates a Scooter’s Coffee location in Colonial Heights, so this isn’t his first rodeo when it comes to bringing tasty coffee to the area.
Details on the project indicate that work is already underway at the future shop on North Roan Street, right in the Boones Creek community. If you’re a regular in the area, you might have noticed some grading work at 4709 N. Roan St., which is just north of a Hardee’s. According to McDavid, this spot is perfect for catching the morning traffic headed into town. “This lot popped up and it’s a good site for us – the morning side of the road, catching all those drivers coming into town,” he mentioned.
The building itself will be a cozy 664-square-foot structure with a drive-through. Not huge, but definitely big enough to serve all those needing their coffee fixes. For those who are new to Scooter’s Coffee, here’s what you can expect: high-quality drinks, a speedy service, and a friendly crew. Scooter’s Coffee prides itself on three “amazings” – amazing people, amazing drinks, and amazing speed.
The company’s signature drink, the “Caramelicious,” is a must-try. But that’s not all. The menu includes a variety of hot and iced drinks, teas, and smoothies. They also serve a limited selection of food items, most of which are breakfast-oriented, making it a perfect stop for your morning rituals.
McDavid believes this new location is coming at a perfect time and to a perfect place. He mentioned, “The Boones Creek area I feel like is underserved with coffee and it’s a growing area.” Indeed, Boones Creek has been experiencing notable growth and this new drive-through is expected to be a welcomed addition to the local amenities.
Speaking of growth, Johnson City’s coffee scene is also expanding. The new Boones Creek store will join two existing Scooter’s Coffee locations in Kingsport and one in Greeneville. McDavid opened his Colonial Heights store in Kingsport in 2022, and it has been doing well since. With the addition of a Scooter’s in Boones Creek, coffee options in Johnson City are getting even better.
So mark your calendars, folks. If all goes according to plan, by the end of November or the beginning of December, you’ll have a new spot to grab a delicious cup of coffee on your morning commute. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the grand opening. We can’t wait to see what McDavid and his crew have in store for us. Till then, happy coffee sipping!
