Keep Kingsport Beautiful to Hold ‘Saturday in the Gardens’ Event

In a bid to improve the town’s aesthetic and encourage local gardening, Keep Kingsport Beautiful is holding an exciting event, ‘Saturday in the Gardens’. The event promises to be a fun-filled day for green-thumbed locals, with five private gardens and a school pollinator garden open to the public for this one-day event.

Fundraising for a Beautiful Cause

Organized by Keep Kingsport Beautiful, tickets are now available for this fundraising event. Scheduled for June 22, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the event is sponsored by Eastman, and all proceeds will go towards supporting the numerous programs led by Keep Kingsport Beautiful.

Saturday in the Gardens Tour

Gather your friends and family for a self-guided tour of some of Kingsport’s most beautiful private gardens. The itinerary includes the Miles and Denise Burdine garden at Birchwood Road, Tammie Davis’s garden at Pendragon Road, and a rooftop garden owned by Darrell and Sharon Duncan on Center Street. Other notable stops are the Chris and Danelle Glasscock garden on Reservoir Road and the Dennis and Rebecca Hall garden on Old Stage Road. Finally, visitors can stop by the Washington School pollinator garden at Bellingham Drive.

Buy Your Tickets Now!

Entry to ‘Saturday in the Gardens’ is only $30. Tickets are readily available at the Kingsport Chamber, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or online via the Kingsport Chamber website. Tickets will also be available for purchase on the tour day at the private gardens. Admission is free for children aged 12 and under. It is important to note that the tour will go on, rain or shine.

Comfort and Safety First

Organizers recommend visitors wear comfortable shoes for their convenience. While efforts have been made to ensure a smooth visitor experience, not all areas may be level or accessible to the differently-abled. Visitors are to tour at their own risk. For the comfort and safety of all visitors, the rule of no pets, strollers, motorized scooters, or tobacco products is to be strictly adhered to, and tickets are non-refundable.
