In terms of business, the city of Kingsport has been bustling with upcoming developments. Most of these new additions are food and beverage related chains which are set to provide an enriched experience and a wider range of choices for the locals.
In recent weeks, two new businesses have been launched in the Kingsport area: Tropical Smoothie Cafe and Academy Sports + Outdoors. The new Tropical Smoothie Cafe, a leading destination for a delicious and healthier fare, is poised to become a local favorite at its North Eastman Road location.
Academy Sports + Outdoors, a top retailer of sport and outdoor products, is also making its mark in the area at the Kingsport Pavilion. Their store is known for providing a broad assortment of quality hunting, fishing, and camping equipment and gear along with sports and leisure products. This affiliation will significantly cater to the outdoor and sports enthusiasts of Kingsport.
7 Brew will be celebrating the grand opening of its second Kingsport location on this coming Saturday at 1775 Fort Henry Drive. Being a popular coffee chain, this promises to be an exciting addition to the local community. Also, a commercial permit for a new Starbucks outlet, known worldwide for its premium quality coffees, was approved by city officials on April 5. Set to be located at 430 W. Stone Drive, this establishment is sure to attract a crowd.
Alongside these new businesses, Kingsport Chamber also announced the Appalachian Highlands Women’s Business Center earlier this week. Aundrea Salyer, chief business development officer for the Kingsport Office of Small Business, stated that more than half of the 100+ businesses started in the region are female-owned. This initiative will boost the rise of local women entrepreneurs.
Various community events are also lined up. The Scott County Career and Technical Center will host its annual flower sale throughout April. The Kingsport Chamber will host Brewhaha, a night of pizza, beer, and laughs, at Meadowview Conference Resort & Convention Center on April 19.
There will also be a Woman-Owned Small Business Workshop hosted by the Kingsport Office of Small Business Development and Entrepreneurship with the Small Business Administration on April 18 at the Kingsport Chamber. Kingsport Cultural Arts and Engage Kingsport are also hosting a Kingsport ARTS Festival on April 19 and 20 to celebrate the thriving local art scene.
Last but not the least, the Downtown Kingsport Association will host its 2024 Downtown Kingsport Loft Tour on April 20 to showcase the revitalization of downtown Kingsport.
With these exciting developments and vibrant community events, Kingsport is exhibiting steady growth and an invigorating spirit of entrepreneurship and unity. This will, undoubtedly, boost local economy and create an enhanced life quality for the residents in this dynamic city.
