Johnson City is buzzing with excitement as Milligan University gears up for its annual senior showcase, an event that highlights the hard work and creativity of its graphic design and interactive media design students. This year’s theme, “Pause,” encourages both the community and the artists to take a breather, soak in their achievements, and celebrate the journey they’ve taken during their time at Milligan.

The much-anticipated showcase runs from November 17 to December 3 and will be hosted in the Milligan Art Gallery located in Derthick Hall. If you’re in the area, swing by for the opening reception on Sunday, November 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. This event is completely free and open to everyone, so grab your friends and family for a fun afternoon filled with creativity and inspiration!

Meet the Talented Artists

This year’s showcase features the creative works of four impressive seniors. You’ll get to see the stunning projects by Abbey Cartagena from Johnson City, Ashley Roberts from Kingsport, Nicholas Hensley from Erwin, and Kamdyn Lee from Kingsport. Each of these talented individuals has poured their heart and soul into their projects, reflecting their unique perspectives and experiences throughout their academic journey.

Nicholas Hensley explained that it reflects an essential moment for everyone involved to “take a moment and enjoy the work created during our time at Milligan.” With the hustle and bustle of deadlines and exams, it’s easy to overlook personal achievements.
