A chain of powerful storms wreaked havoc during the Memorial Day holiday weekend across the central and southern parts of the United States, resulting in at least 21 fatalities and significant damage.

The destructive storms caused deaths in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kentucky. The severe weather system followed north of a heatwave that set records from south Texas to Florida.

American families spending the holiday weekend amidst nature witnessed a devastating scene as the storms created a vast path of wrecked homes, destroyed businesses, and caused power blackouts. The extent of the damage has rendered several businesses and homes non-functional, leading to a significant disruption of life.

Patti Manley, a 69-year-old resident of Mehlville, Missouri, was noted moving a shredded American flag amidst branches littering the backyard of her mother’s home post the violent storm. As the storm hit on Sunday evening, she and her mother, Jackie Moloney, aged 88, managed to weather the storm in an interior bathroom.
