The convention is not just about the fun and games, though, as emphasized by Kip Polmanteer, the Young Adult Librarian. “A lot of people think of fandom conventions as kind of being just some fun nerd thing that we do but it’s actually about promoting literacy and community. Everyone who comes here ends up making friends. They get cool stuff, they get to see new people, artists, and they get to kind of explore the library as well,” Kip explained.

This year’s theme, adventure, was a hit among attendees, adding a layer of excitement and exploration to the overall atmosphere. Local vendors contributed immensely to this vibe, showcasing a variety of intriguing items ranging from handcrafted goods to unique artwork related to various fandoms.
