Kingsport Launches Specialty License Plate to Support Local Schools and Athletics

KINGSPORT, Tenn. — Get Ready to Support Your Local Schools with a New License Plate!

Exciting news for the community of Kingsport! Dobyns-Bennett High School has just announced the launch of a brand-new specialty license plate, and they’re inviting everyone in Tennessee to get in on the action. The design was revealed this past Tuesday, and it showcases the school’s distinct Indian logo alongside the bold Tribe font, making it a unique way to show your school spirit!

How to Order Your Plate

For anyone looking to pre-order this one-of-a-kind license plate, now is the time to act! The great part about this initiative is that the plates are not just a fun accessory; they are legal, registered Tennessee license plates that can be renewed each year. To start the production of these plates, the school needs to gather a minimum of 1,000 pre-orders. So, whether you’re an alumnus, a parent of a student, or just a fan of the Dobyns-Bennett Tribe, getting your plate will help this effort get off the ground!

The cost of the specialty plate is $35, plus a processing fee and the regular vehicle registration fee. It’s a small price to pay to support a great cause while making your vehicle stand out!

Support Local Athletics

So, where does your money go when you order one of these plates? The funds raised from the sale of the plates will directly benefit the athletic programs at John Sevier Middle School and Ross N. Robinson Middle School. In a recent statement, the KCS Superintendent, Dr. Chris Hampton, emphasized the importance of keeping middle school students engaged in “healthy and positive activities” outside of class hours. “This endeavor will provide support that will increase opportunities for middle school students and has the potential to improve the overall quality of our middle school athletic programs,” he explained. It’s not just about the plate; it’s about investing in our youth!

What’s Next?

Once the goal of 1,000 pre-orders has been met, you can expect to wait about 4-6 months for the plates to be manufactured and shipped to the county clerk’s office for pickup. It might sound like a wait, but good things come to those who support their community!

How to Pre-Order

If you’re interested in getting your own Dobyns-Bennett license plate, the process is easy! Simply follow the instructions available through the appropriate channels for pre-ordering, and you’ll be one step closer to showing off your Tribe pride.

Time to Rally for Our Schools!

Kingsport’s new specialty license plate initiative is an exciting opportunity for the community to unite in support of local education and athletics. As the old saying goes, “It takes a village!” Let’s rally together, spread the word, and help facilitate a project that enhances opportunities for our middle school students. Every order counts, and together we can make a huge difference!

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your friends and family, and let everyone know about this fantastic new way to support our schools. Let’s show our colors with pride!
