March 17: A Day of Insight and Inspiration

Mark your calendars for March 17! The day kicks off at 9:15 a.m. with a fascinating presentation titled “With Speech into the Unspeaking: Attentiveness to God’s Handiwork and the Christian Ecological Imagination” by Matthew Dickerson, Ph.D. This event will take place in King University’s Memorial Chapel, and best of all, it’s free and open to the public. It’s a great opportunity to explore some deep and meaningful topics.

As the sun sets, make your way to Central Presbyterian Church in Bristol, Virginia, for a special evening session at 7 p.m.. Matthew Dickerson will present “Hope and Lament in J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth.” You won’t want to miss this unique take on Tolkien’s world.

March 18: Step into Healthcare

Ever thought about a career in healthcare? On March 18, from 5-7 p.m., Ballad Health is hosting an “Exploring Healthcare Careers” event at Norton Overlook. For those who enjoy physical activities, the Crumley House’s “Joggin’ for the Noggin” 5K and Pancake Breakfast begins with registration at 8:30 a.m. and kicks off at 10 a.m. And don’t forget about the Spring Hike: “Walking in Frontier Footsteps” at Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park, taking place from 10-11 a.m. On the same day, there’s also a special event commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Transylvania Purchase at Sycamore Shoals.

On March 23, music lovers are in for a treat! At 2 p.m., head over to Cantrell Hall on the UVA Wise campus for a concert by Dave Eggar and TetraQuark. Later that evening, Jason Crabb and Consumed By Fire will take the stage at The Lincoln Theatre at 7 p.m. Tickets for this vibrant concert range from $23 to $43.
