Hey there, Kingsport! If you’ve been wondering why the Kingsport Aquatics Center looks a bit different lately, don’t worry—it’s all part of an exciting transformation. The center is currently in its third week of a monthlong shutdown, during which crews are hard at work enhancing our favorite local swimming spot.
Inside the aquatics center, big changes are underway! For starters, they are replacing dive blocks for our swim teams, which means our athletes will soon have better equipment for their races and practices. It’s all about enhancing the competitive edge for our talented swimmers, and we can’t wait to see them in action!
But that’s not all! The team is also busy filling up and balancing the pools to ensure that everything is just right for future swimmers and visitors. This rigorous maintenance process is crucial since it guarantees all safety and health standards are met. The crew is aiming for nothing less than the best as they prepare to reopen to the community.
Additionally, the outdoor slides are also getting some attention. They are working on gel coating these popular attractions, which not only adds a splash of color but also helps maintain safety and durability for all the sliding fun!
This closure, the first long-term one for the Kingsport Aquatics Center, has unfortunately led to the delay of a few swim meets that were scheduled during this time. While it’s disappointing for our local teams and fans, everyone understands that these upgrades will ultimately make the aquatics center even better for future events. The extra time spent on these improvements will pay off in waves, making it worth the wait!
So when can we expect to splash back into action? According to the latest updates, the tentative date for everything to be completed is September 30. This is exciting news for many residents, especially those looking forward to swim practices and fun family outings at the aquatic center.
As we eagerly await the reopening of the Kingsport Aquatics Center, we can’t help but feel excited about the enhancements being made. It’s always great to see local facilities improving their services and amenities for the community. So let’s keep our fingers crossed for good weather and smooth sailing for the crew as they finish up these much-needed upgrades. We’ll be back in the water before we know it!
