Big Hearts and Great Music: 49 Winchester Takes the Stage for Hurricane Helene Relief

In the lovely city of Johnson City, excitement is building just around the corner! The ETSU Martin Center for the Arts is getting ready to host a special benefit concert featuring none other than the talented band 49 Winchester. This much-anticipated event is set for Saturday, November 30th, at 7:30 p.m., and you won’t want to miss it!

A Cause Close to Home

As we know, our region has been hit hard by the effects of Hurricane Helene. Many folks in East Tennessee, Western North Carolina, and Southwest Virginia are still facing challenges as they work to recover. That’s why the proceeds from this concert will directly benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee. If you need a reason to buy those tickets, remember that each ticket sold will provide critical support to those in our community who need it the most. Tickets are priced between $30 to $40 and can be snagged through the official ETSU Martin Center website.

A Message from the Heart

Jennifer Clements, the Executive Director of the Martin Center, spoke about the importance of this concert, saying, “This concert embodies the spirit of Appalachia, where we come together to support one another in times of need. It’s more than just music; it’s a chance for our community to unite and help our neighbors.” It’s clear that this event is all about community solidarity, showing how music can heal and unite people during tough times.

The Band Behind the Cause

Now let’s talk about the band! Hailing from the vibrant heart of Virginia, 49 Winchester has a unique sound that fuses country, rock, and folk influences. With lyrics that touch the soul and performances that engage the audience, it’s no wonder this band has garnered a loyal fan base. The members of 49 Winchester are committed to giving back to the community. The bassist and founding member, Chase Chafin, emphasizes that, “Looking after each other is a huge part of the ethos of Appalachia.” He shares that they are excited to use this concert not only as a celebration of music but as a platform to aid recovery efforts for those affected by Hurricane Helene.

Second Harvest Food Bank: A Lifeline for Many

The Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee has been a beacon of hope in the region since 1986, fighting against hunger and providing support to our neighbors in need. Serving an eight-county area, they’ve distributed a staggering 10.8 million meals in just the last fiscal year! They help feed over 40,000 individuals monthly and are dedicated to tackling hunger head-on. As a proud member of the Feeding America network, they are always looking for innovative ways to improve food security in our area.

Join the Fun and Make a Difference

So, if you love great music and want to make a difference in people’s lives, mark your calendars for November 30th! This concert is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the tunes of 49 Winchester while contributing to a worthy cause. Whether you bring your friends, family, or just come to sing along, you’ll be part of something special.

Don’t wait too long to grab your tickets! Head over to the ETSU Martin Center’s website or give the box office a call at 423-439-2787 to secure your spot. Let’s come together as a community and show our neighbors that we care. After all, when we lift each other up, we ALL rise!
