Hey there, Bristol! Exciting news has come to our lovely city as four paramedics from Kassel, Germany have made their way to Virginia for a special EMS Exchange Program. These dedicated medics have spent the last two weeks delving into the emergency medical services system that our region offers, and they’ve been busy learning and soaking it all in!

This cultural exchange kicked off back in May 2023 when paramedics from our Virginia region hopped on a plane to Kassel to see firsthand how things are done in Germany. Now it’s time for the roles to reverse, as the German paramedics have traveled across our beautiful state, stopping in amazing locations like Virginia Beach and Richmond before arriving at our own Bristol Life Saving Crew.

During their time in Bristol, one of the German paramedics, Luisa Hornschuh, shared her insights about patient care.
