Exciting Week Planned at the Elizabethton Senior Center

Must-Visit Place for Seniors

The Elizabethton Senior Center, based on 428 East G Street, has released a packed schedule of events and activities targeted specifically for individuals aged 55 and over. The establishment is known for its vibrant and community-centered activities. The forthcoming week from June 3rd through to June 7th is no exception. In addition, the billiard room and the fitness room are open throughout the week, with no appointments needed.

Daily Schedule

Center hours are from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday and until noon on Friday. The week seems to be framed by wellness activities and delectable meal options.

Kickstarting the week on Monday, the center has ‘Just Keep Movin’ – a cardio, toning and strength building class that is group led, commencing at 9 a.m. Coupled with a Salisbury steak lunch at 11 a.m., the day promises to engage the body and the taste buds.

Tuesday is loaded with activities including the ‘Walk with Ease’- a 6-week arthritis workshop, the Boys & Girls Club Reading Program, a lunchtime chili dog, and ends with Sharon Pilk’s line dancing sessions. Tuesday evening flourishes with the ‘Families Raising Families’ happening at Boys & Girls Club.

Centered again on fitness Wednesday starts with the ‘Just Keep Movin’’ workout and proceeds to Qigong session with Adina, followed by Pizza Casserole for lunch. The afternoon holds Chair Yoga and Gentle Flow Yoga with instructors from Yoga Farm.

Thursday and Friday follow a similar structure with the ‘Walk with Ease’ program, lunch and unique sessions like the SALT Council Meeting on Thursday and Bingo play on Friday.

Upcoming Trips

In addition to the packed weekly roster, the Elizabethton Senior Center also has upcoming trips. Planned by Gail Berry, these trips are to New Brunswick in August and Lancaster Show Trip & The Dutch Country in October. More details regarding the trips are available at the Center.

Before You Leave

The center calls out to seniors willing to volunteer, notably for home-delivered meals. There is a reminder to get your discounted reflective number street sign through the SALT Council. The Elizabethton Senior Center is eager to welcome new members and suggest visits to their website and Facebook page for further information.

Creating a Thriving Senior Community

The Elizabethton Senior Center continues its work, creating a warm, welcoming and vibrant community for seniors. With a plethora of activities, workshops, classes, and trips, seniors have many opportunities to connect, learn, enjoy and contribute to the community.
