Hey there, Elizabethton! It’s that wonderful time of the week again when we fill you in on all the exciting things happening at the Elizabethton Senior Center! Whether you’re looking to get fit, socialize, or enjoy a delicious meal, there’s something lined up for everyone from October 21 to October 25. So, grab your calendar and get ready to mark down all the fun!
The center is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. The billiard room and fitness room are available for use without any appointments needed. Why not swing by and check it out? You might find your new favorite pastime!
Start your week with some exercise! Join the “Just Keep Movin’” group for a fun session of cardio, toning, and strength building at 9 a.m.. After working up an appetite, stick around for a delicious lunch featuring Country Style Steak at 11 a.m. If you’re looking to unwind, don’t miss Chair Yoga with Shirley Gomillian at 12:15 p.m. for just $3. Alternatively, you can join Gentle Flow Yoga with Cindy Brugnoletti for the same price.
Get those creative juices flowing with a Pumpkin Decorating Craft at 9:45 a.m.. Bring your own pumpkin or sign up to have the Senior Center provide one at no cost. Light snacks and refreshments will be available, so come on down! For lunch, enjoy a warm Chicken Pot Pie at 11 a.m. Note, however, that Line Dancing has been canceled for this day, but we’ve got plenty of other activities to keep you entertained!
Don’t let the midweek slump get you down! Join us again for “Just Keep Movin’” at 9 a.m. to keep that energy flowing. The TN SHIP representatives will be at the center during walk-in hours from 9 a.m. to 12 noon to assist with all your questions regarding Medicare Open Enrollment. It’s a great time to get informed! For lunch, we’ll be having Cheeseburger Casserole at 11 a.m. After lunch, return for Chair Yoga and Gentle Flow Yoga classes.
Kick off your Thursday with a Brain-Body-Boost Fitness Class from 10-11 a.m.. It’s free, so bring a friend and let’s get those minds and bodies moving together! After a good workout, come for lunch as we serve Turkey Kielbasa with Cabbage at 11 a.m. Yum!
What a fun way to end the week! Join us for Birthday Bingo and a Halloween Costume Contest! Bring your A-game for chances to win prizes for the first through third places. Enjoy light refreshments and snacks while you play. Don’t forget, lunch will be Chunky Chicken and Veg Soup at 11 a.m.. A perfect way to wrap up the week!
