Exciting Week Ahead at Elizabethton Senior Center

Let’s talk about what’s happening this week at the Elizabethton Senior Center. Located at 428 East G Street, this vibrant hub for seniors is bursting with activities and opportunities for connection and fun from Monday, September 30 to Friday, October 4. If you’ve never visited before, this is the perfect time to check it out!

Daily Schedules and Highlights

The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 12 noon on Fridays. You can pop in anytime to enjoy the billiard room or the fitness room—no appointments necessary!

Here’s a sneak peek at the scheduled activities for the week:

Monday, September 30

  • Just Keep Movin’ – Join us for a fun and energizing group-led session focused on cardio, toning, and strength building at 9 a.m.
  • Fall Craft – Get creative by painting either a ceramic pumpkin or a 3D pumpkin at 10 a.m.. It’s free, and who doesn’t love a bit of fall cheer?
  • Lunch: Dive into some delicious meatballs with gravy served at 11 a.m.
  • Chair Yoga with instructor Shirley Gomillian for just $3 at 12:15 p.m.
  • Gentle Flow Yoga with Cindy Brugnoletti at the same time, also for $3.

Tuesday, October 1

  • Kick off your day with Blood Pressure Checks conducted by Freda at 9 a.m.
  • Tai Chi with the UT Extension kicks off at 10 a.m.—a great way to improve balance and flexibility!
  • Lunch: Warm up with a hearty beef stew at 11 a.m..
  • Note: Line Dancing is canceled for today.

Wednesday, October 2

  • Again, we’ll be moving with the Just Keep Movin’ group at 9 a.m.
  • Lunch: Treat yourself to some breaded fish with tartar sauce at 11 a.m..
  • Chair Yoga and Gentle Flow Yoga make a return with our standout instructors at 12:15 p.m., each for $3.

Thursday, October 3

  • Brain-Body-Boost Fitness Class is back, and it’s free! Join in at 11 a.m..
  • Live at Lunch with Julie Williams—bring an instrument to join in on the fun, or just enjoy the tunes starting at 11 a.m..
  • Lunch: Enjoy a cozy meal of soup beans at 11 a.m..
  • SALT Council Meeting at 11:30 a.m..

Friday, October 4

  • It’s bingo time! Join us to play at 10 a.m..
  • Lunch: Wind down the week with oven-fried chicken served at 11 a.m..
