If you’re in Elizabethton and looking to get out, meet some great folks, or just have some fun, then the Elizabethton Senior Center has got a lineup of activities waiting for you! As the holiday spirit picks up this week, there’s plenty to do from Monday, November 25 to Friday, November 29.
First things first, the Senior Center is open to serve you with great activities and even better company. You can stop by Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and get a head start on your weekend with us on Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. No need to book a reservation for the billiard room or fitness room—they’re ready for you whenever you are!
Start your week off right on Monday with our Just Keep Movin’ program, where you can enjoy cardio, toning, and strength-building exercises, all led by our enthusiastic group at 9 a.m.. You don’t want to miss out on today’s delicious lunch featuring Salisbury Steak at 11 a.m.. After a tasty meal, why not join us for some calming Chair Yoga led by the fabulous Shirley Gomillian? Classes kick off at 12:15 p.m. for just $3. Or if you’re in the mood for something gentle, try out the Gentle Flow Yoga with Cindy Brugnoletti—also at just $3!
On Tuesday, tantalize your taste buds with BBQ Chicken Breast for lunch at 11 a.m.. Afterward, get ready to kick up your heels and strike a pose with Line Dancing from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., led by the jovial Sharon Pilk. This dance session only costs $3, and it’s a great way to learn some fun new steps!
Hump day brings another round of the Just Keep Movin’ program at 9 a.m. followed by a hearty Turkey with Dressing & Gravy lunch at 11 a.m.. Post-lunch, you can relax with Chair Yoga at 12:15 p.m. with Shirley Gomillian or the Gentle Flow Yoga with Cindy Brugnoletti, both at $3.
Now, here’s a gentle reminder: on Thursday, the center will be closed for Thanksgiving. Soak in those festive vibes and enjoy your time with family and friends! Unfortunately, there will be no meals provided that day.
Come Friday, the fun doesn’t stop, but the center will again be closed for the holiday. Enjoy a nice leisurely morning because we’ll be back next week with more awesome activities!
Are you passionate about giving back to your community? The Elizabethton Senior Center is always looking for volunteers. If you want to help out with delivering meals to those in need, just give us a call at (423) 543-4255 to find out how you can contribute!
If you, or someone you know, is a senior who has been affected by Hurricane Helene, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here to provide support, whether you need food, water, or other essentials. Just call (423) 543-4362, stop by the center at 428 East G Street, or shoot us an email at info@elizabethtonseniorcenter.org. We genuinely care and are here to help!
With all these activities lined up, there’s no reason to stay cooped up at home. Grab a friend or partner and head to the Elizabethton Senior Center for a week of fun, food, and community!
