Hey there, Elizabethton residents! If you’re looking to stay active, engaged, and maybe even make some new friends, the Elizabethton Senior Center is the place to be this week! With an array of fun activities lined up, there’s something for everyone to look forward to from Monday, November 11, through Friday, November 15. So, let’s dive into what’s happening!
First things first, mark your calendars! The Senior Center will be closed on Monday in observance of Veterans Day. That means no meals and no activities on this day as we take a moment to honor our brave veterans.
Now, moving on to Tuesday, it’s time to kick off the week with some delicious food and lively movement. Join us for a scrumptious lunch featuring meatloaf served at 11 a.m.. After your tasty meal, why not shake a leg? Get ready to have some fun with *line dancing*, led by the fabulous Sharon Pilk, from 12 to 1 p.m. for just $3! Now that’s a deal you can’t beat!
On Wednesday, the day starts off at 9 a.m. with the incredibly energizing Just Keep Movin’ class, focusing on cardio, toning, and strength building—perfect for keeping our bodies in shape as we age! After that, it’s time to unleash your creative side with our Fall Snack-n-Craft at 9:45 a.m. Enjoy some crafting while munching on snacks and refreshments—best of all, this event is absolutely FREE!
Wondering what’s for lunch? How about some delicious Teriyaki Chicken & Rice at 11 a.m.? Plus, don’t forget to unwind with a soothing Chair Yoga class at 12:15 p.m. led by Shirley Gomillian for just $3. And for those looking for a bit more challenge, there’ll be a Gentle Flow Yoga session too, hosted by Cindy Brugnoletti. It’s a great way to find your zen!
Thursday brings even more excitement with a Brain-Body-Boost Fitness Class at 11 a.m.—and yes, you guessed it, this one is FREE! Follow that up with a hearty lunch of Chili with Beans & Cheese for just $5. But wait, there’s more! Join our Vet – 2 Vet Café from 1 to 2 p.m., where all veterans are warmly welcomed thanks to our friends at Caris Healthcare. It’s a wonderful chance to connect with fellow service members!
Finally, wrap up the week on Friday with another chance to *Just Keep Movin’* at 9 a.m. before we dive into a lively game of Bingo with our special host, Visiting Angels, at 10 a.m. And lunch? Expect some mouthwatering BBQ Pork Riblet at 11 a.m. Yes, please!
If you’re looking to give back to the community, consider volunteering! We’re always in need of friendly faces to help with delivering meals. Just call 543-4255 and find out how you can get involved.
And a quick reminder: If you or anyone you know is a senior who has been impacted by Hurricane Helene, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We have resources available for food, water, or other necessities. Call us at (423) 543-4362 or visit us at 428 East G Street. Remember, we’re here to help!
We can’t wait to see you all at the Elizabethton Senior Center this week for fun, food, and camaraderie! Let’s make some great memories together!
