Hey there, Johnson City! We have some thrilling news for all you football lovers! The ETSU Buccaneers have just announced their 2025 football schedule, and it’s shaping up to be an action-packed season. So grab your jerseys and get ready to cheer on our team!
The 2025 season will kick off on August 30th with the much-anticipated opening game at home against Murray State. This marks the start of an exciting new era under Coach Will Healy. Fans are eager to see what he brings to the team and how he plans to lead the Buccaneers in this new chapter.
Looking ahead, just a week later, on September 6th, the Buccaneers will take on another fierce opponent – the Tennessee Volunteers. This game isn’t just any matchup; it’s a clash of FCS and FBS right here in our Eastern Tennessee backyard! Coach Healy expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Going to Tennessee will be an incredible opportunity for our fan base and players.” It’s clear that he has a great deal of respect for the Vols and is looking forward to the challenge in their stadium, especially considering their recent appearance in the College Football Playoff.
After that tough matchup, ETSU will head to West Georgia on September 13th before returning to William B. Greene Jr. Stadium to host Elon on September 20th. That homecoming is sure to fire up fans as they rally behind the Bucs. The following weekend, ETSU will dive into their Southern Conference schedule, starting with a game against Mercer on September 27th.
A new month brings new challenges. On October 4th, the Buccaneers will trek down to Greenville, SC, to face Furman. After a tough road game, it will be nice for the Bucs to come back home the next week to host VMI. This pattern of traveling and hosting keeps the excitement rolling for the players and fans alike.
As October continues, the Buccaneers will hit the road once again for the Rail Rivalry against Chattanooga on the 18th. Rivalry games always bring a special energy, and this one will be no exception! Fans are sure to turn out in droves to support our Bucs!
Later in the month, on the 25th, ETSU will host Wofford, and after that, it’s time for a much-needed bye week on November 1st. A break can be crucial to help the team recharge and gear up for the final stretch!
After the bye, the Bucs will be back on the road for a two-game trip, visiting Samford and Western Carolina. These games are pivotal as they head into the last leg of the season. Finally, they’ll wrap up the year at home against The Citadel, giving fans one last chance to show their support as the team finishes the season strong.
This season promises to be filled with excitement, challenges, and unforgettable moments. So mark your calendars, grab your tickets, and let’s support our Buccaneers as they embark on this thrilling journey! Here’s to a fantastic 2025 season!
