Marking a big stride in diminishing hunger and promoting education, East Tennessee State University’s Upward Bound program has announced its participation in the Summer Food Service Program, sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Feeding the Future
The meals will be served at the ETSU’s Campus Dining Hall that is situated inside the D.P. Culp Student Center. Children who align with the income stipulations for discounted meals in the National School Lunch Program, come from households qualifying for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), benefit from the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), or match with the criteria for Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) are automatically eligible for this program.
Program Details
Slated to take place between May 29th and June 28th, the event will be hosted at the East Tennessee State University Dining Hall, Upper Level, D.P. Culp Center, 412 J.L. Seehorn Jr. Drive, Johnson City, TN 37614. The serving hours will be categorized into breakfast (7:30-8:20 a.m.), lunch (12:15-1:30 p.m.), and dinner (5-6 p.m.) from Monday through Friday. The dinner will not be served on Fridays.
