Recently, the Elizabethton Police Department disclosed a chain of arrests made in the past few weeks. On February 20, Officer James Deese responded to a BOLO directive on Hwy. 19E concerning a white Dodge Durango swerving erratically on the road without a discernible tag. The vehicle was occupied by Rebecca Michelle Jones and her passenger, James Ray Jones.
Upon verification, Rebecca’s North Carolina driver’s license was found to be suspended, and James’s was for identification purposes. The couple was found possessing an unidentified and uninsured vehicle.
In accordance, Rebecca Jones was charged with driving on a suspended license, misuse of registration, and financial responsibility. Her court hearing is currently set for March 4.
On February 17, Officer James Deese, supporting Cpt. Croy, took Christine Ellen Monetti into custody for showing symptoms of being under the influence and refusing sobriety tests. Monetti is charged with public intoxication and is set to appear in court on March 4.
Previously, on February 10, Sgt. David Johnson and Cpl. Eric Norman responded to a situation involving Leah Vines Anderson at 920 Broad St. (Food City). Anderson exhibited signs of being under narcotic influence, had difficulty standing steadily, and provided incoherent responses.
