The Elizabethton Police Department has reported a series of arrests conducted over the past week that demonstrates their ongoing commitment to ensuring public safety and upholding the law.
On April 17, Officer Samuel Woodby attended a disturbance at a local Exxon service station. The officer found a woman, Kathy Sue Lingerfelt, in an agitated state. She was subsequently arrested on charges of public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of methamphetamine.
On the following day, Jacob T. Carty was issued a citation for tampering with a drug test at the probation and parole office located at 100 Parkway Boulevard. This case was handled by Cpl. Tim Garland.
On April 15, a vehicle theft incident culminated in a foot pursuit involving Officer Nicholas Kerns and suspect Leonard A. Price. The chase concluded with Price’s apprehension in a local river. The investigation has been handed over to Investigator Maney.
April 14 saw an arrest made at a Burger King restaurant on West Elk Avenue. Jonathan Michael Cook faced charges of public intoxication after Officer Samuel Woodby responded to reports of unruly behavior.
Meanwhile, on April 13, Officer James Deese detained Joshua Scott Johnson for evading and resisting arrest. This action took place at the Broad Street McDonald’s.
On April 12, another case of falsified drug testing was reported at the CCI Probation Office. The accused, Martin Taylor Acosta, was dealt with by Captain Matt Croy.
Lastly, on April 11, Cpl. Mosier and Sgt. Johnson arrested Gary Franklin Fletcher at the probation and parole office on West Elk Avenue. Fletcher was accused of violating probation regulations.
