Multiple Arrests Reported by Elizabethton Police Department

In Elizabethton, a variety of arrests have been reported by the local Police Department, providing insight into the recent crimes and disturbances handled by local law enforcement. These arrests occurred over a period of several days and range from public intoxication to more strenuous offenses such as resisting arrest, driving under the influence, and installing illegal tracking devices on vehicles.

Public Intoxication Arrests on May 5

On May 5, Officer Rocky Croy arrested an intoxicated woman, Teresa McMichael, on Highway 19-E. McMichael was initially spotted at 508 Broad Street at a local establishment, El Charolais. Due to her significant level of intoxication, McMichael was arrested for public intoxication.

On the same day, Officer Matthew Goldberg carried out a series of arrests. Goldberg responded to a welfare check on Blueridge Avenue, where he found Michael Joe Woodby intoxicated near the Tweetsie Trail. Woodby was subsequently arrested for public intoxication. Goldberg also apprehended Brandy Kay Nave at 704 Broad Street (Gas-N-Go). Nave exhibited signs of intoxication and erratic behavior, leading to her arrest for public intoxication.

DUI and Disorderly Conduct on May 5

Officer Matthew Goldberg further investigated a suspicious vehicle on Allen Avenue. Austin Vanhoy was found near the scene and seemed under the influence. Vanhoy refused to perform sobriety tests, which led to his arrest for driving under the influence.

Later that day, Officer Matthew Scott responded to a suspicious person report on Stonewall Jackson Drive. Erica Dawn Grafton was arrested for disorderly conduct, public intoxication, and resisting stop/arrest after exhibiting aggressive behavior towards the police.

Public Intoxication and Outstanding Warrants on May 3

Officer Erin Potter was active on May 3, making a couple of arrests. One was Preston Bradley Queen, found intoxicated and belligerent near Riverview Drive and Siam Road and was arrested for public intoxication. Potter also transported Gregory Walsh to the Carter County Detention Center due to active failure to appear warrants in the Carter County Juvenile Court.

Illegal Tracking Installation and Falsification of Drug Test

The other significant arrests occurred on May 2. Officer Spencer Ward arrested Patrick Lynn Kelly for the illegal installation and tracking of a vehicle after Kelly confessed to interfering with a vehicle’s tires and installing a tracking device without permission. Furthermore, Officer Matthew Scott issued a citation to Anthony Shane Johnson for the falsification of a drug test after Johnson attempted to provide a false sample.

Driving Without License and Financial Irresponsibility

Sgt. David Johnson issued a criminal summons to Savanna Leigh Cable on May 2 for driving without a license and failure to comply with financial responsibility. Cable was caught operating a vehicle without a license, leading to her summons.
