Exciting news for the folks in Elizabethton! The Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department has officially moved to its new home at the Tetrick Community Center. Previously known as the Franklin Fitness Center, this fresh location promises to enhance recreational opportunities for the community. Conveniently placed at 1509 W. Elk Ave., just behind Sycamore Shoals Hospital, the new facility is set to officially welcome the public starting Monday, January 6, 2025.
With this relocation, the department is all geared up to keep delivering popular services that residents have come to love. Visitors can look forward to:
This move isn’t just about office space – it’s about creating an engaging environment for all! One of the standout features at the Tetrick Community Center is the reopening of the walking track. This newly accessible 220-foot indoor loop is perfect for getting your steps in, no matter what the weather is like outside. For those looking to complete a mile on the track, be prepared to walk a total of 24 laps around the loop. That’s a fantastic way to stay active!
The walking track will be open during the department’s regular business hours from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Just a heads-up: the track will be closed during the lunch hour, from noon to 1 p.m., so plan your strolls accordingly. There’s no better way to integrate exercise into your daily routine than by taking advantage of this fantastic loop!
But wait! There’s more to look forward to! The Parks and Recreation Department is working hard to bring even more offerings to the community. Keep an eye out for details regarding the availability of the Pine Room, community events, and exciting new fitness classes.
