Elizabethton is buzzing with excitement as Holston Habitat for Humanity prepares to host a fantastic Home Dedication Ceremony for a deserving new homeowner, Corrie, and her daughter. This heartwarming event is set to take place on Friday, January 24, at 3 p.m., at their newly built home located at 606 Blevins Avenue. It’s a golden opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the pride of homeownership!
Corrie and her daughter are thrilled to step into their brand-new, two-bedroom, one-bathroom home. Crafted with care, this lovely residence boasts state-of-the-art finishes, energy-efficient windows, and shiny stainless steel appliances. These modern touches not only enhance the aesthetic but also ensure a comfortable and eco-friendly lifestyle for the family. How exciting it must be for Corrie to finally unlock the door to a space they can truly call their own!
Corrie’s journey to homeownership has seen her put in a remarkable effort. She has completed over 250 hours of sweat equity, dedicating her time and skills to help build not only her home but also the hopes and dreams of others in her community. Additionally, she has participated in financial health classes offered through the Habitat program, arming herself with vital knowledge for long-term success. She is now proudly recognized as the 363rd family served by Holston Habitat for Humanity, marking a significant milestone for both her and the organization!
This home is the 264th new abode constructed by Holston Habitat for Humanity. It symbolizes more than just four walls; it stands for hope, stability, and community strength. The home mortgage comes courtesy of the Richard and Norma Tetrick family and is further backed by the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) of Cincinnati, ensuring that Corrie’s new home comes with an affordable Habitat mortgage. This means her monthly payment will only be 30% of her income, setting the stage for long-term financial stability!
The Home Dedication Ceremony will be a magnificent event filled with joyful moments. Community leaders will take the stage to share warm words of encouragement and support, and there will be a heartfelt key presentation. Corrie and her daughter will also have the chance to share their gratitude and express what this new home means to them, making the ceremony a personal and memorable occasion.
This event, which is part of Holston Habitat’s 40th anniversary celebrations in 2025, is open to the public. Everyone in the Elizabethton community is invited to come and celebrate this wonderful achievement of homeownership. It’s a chance to witness the difference that a loving and supportive community can make
