Elizabethton Community Calendar: Upcoming Events and Gatherings

The upcoming days in Elizabethton are packed with a variety of events and community gatherings aimed at bringing people together and offering support. Here’s a rundown of what’s happening around town:

Tuesday, July 30

The Green Pastures Group of Alcoholics Anonymous is meeting at 8 p.m. at 411 East Elk Ave. This gathering is a safe space for individuals to find support and share their experiences.

Wednesday, July 31

Narcotics Anonymous will hold a meeting at 12:15 p.m. at 210 South Hills Drive. This will be followed by an Al-Anon “Free To Be Me” meeting at 6 p.m. at 411 E. Elk Ave. Additionally, the “New Way of Life” group, which offers a 12-step based, open recovery meeting, will gather at noon at 413 East Elk Ave.

Thursday, Aug. 1

The Still Waters Group of Alcoholics Anonymous is meeting at 8 p.m. at 210 South Hills Drive. A supportive network awaits anyone who wishes to attend.

Friday, Aug. 2

Once again, the Green Pastures Group of Alcoholics Anonymous will assemble at 8 p.m. at 411 East Elk Ave for another session of shared experiences and support.

Saturday, Aug. 3

The descendants of Emmert Doc and Wilda Deloach are coming together for a reunion at the home of Brenda Loveless, located at 157 Loveless Road. Monday, Aug. 5

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) will be meeting at the First Baptist Church, 212 East F St., with weigh-in beginning at 5:30-6:30 p.m. and the meeting starting at 6:45 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend, and more information can be obtained from Joan Jarrett at 423-268-2100 or 423-914-1954.

The 41st Smith-White-Price Family Reunion is set for noon until 4 p.m. at the Hampton Christian Church Fellowship Hall, 810 Deerfield Lane, Hampton. A meal will be served at 1 p.m., and attendees should bring a favorite covered dish and a dessert. Bringing a gift for bingo, door prizes, and horseshoes is also encouraged. A Gardening Seminar will be held at Sycamore Shoals State Park from 9 a.m. until noon. The seminar, which is free to the public, will cover topics like reviewing summer gardens, planting a fall garden, and pruning various fruit trees. The event is presented by Master Gardeners Ben Hunter and Cameron Coates and is sponsored by the Northeast Tennessee Master Gardeners and Sycamore Shoals State Park. Also, Narcotics Anonymous will meet again at 12:15 p.m. at the Cross Roads Building, 546 Elk Ave.
