Elizabethton Christmas Parade to Brighten Season with New Route and Festive Spirit

Elizabethton Gears Up for a Holiday Transformation: Christmas Parade Set to Jingle Along New Route!

Residents of Elizabethton are all abuzz with excitement as the highly anticipated annual Christmas parade approaches! On December 14, the town will come alive with festive cheer and holiday spirit, albeit with a bit of a twist this year thanks to some unexpected road changes.

New Route, Same Festive Spirit!

Due to the closure of the Broad Street bridge, the parade has had to take a fresh route this time around. Normally, you would find the floats and participants strutting their stuff along the familiar streets of downtown, but this year, the parade will take place on West G Street from Bemberg Road to South Roan Street. With these necessary changes, the city is gearing up to ensure that everyone still gets to enjoy a magical evening.

Road closures along the new route will begin at 5:45 PM, so if you’re planning to head out, be sure to arrive early to snag a great spot! Courtney Bean, the director of Main Street Elizabethton, has been quick to reassure residents that despite the changes, the essence and joy of the parade remain intact. “We know this year’s parade will feel and look different, but it is important we continue this time-honored tradition for Elizabethton,” she shared in a recent statement.

Community Spirit Shines Bright

One of the incredible things about the Elizabethton community is its resilience and ability to come together during tough times. In the wake of recent challenges, the parade stands as a beacon of hope and unity. Bean adds, “We are proud of the strength we have seen in our community in the wake of Helene and love that we can celebrate it at the parade, no matter the location. We truly appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility with this year’s amended route and invite you to come out to keep building joy for our community with holiday cheer!”

Get Ready for “Santa’s Workshop”!

With a theme like “Santa’s Workshop”, you can expect to see a delightful mix of holiday floats, cheerful characters, and community groups putting on their best festive displays. It’s an opportunity for everyone to let their imagination run wild with decorations, costumes, and creativity. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this is a parade you won’t want to miss!

How to Join in the Fun

If you’re feeling festive and would like to be a part of the parade, it’s not too late! Interested participants can register online at MainStreetElizabethton.com. But don’t dawdle too long! The deadline to sign up is December 7, or until the parade reaches its limit of 100 participants. So, gather your friends, family, or club members and make your plans now!

Mark Your Calendars!

This year’s Christmas parade is more than just an event; it’s a celebration of community resilience, creativity, and the holiday spirit. Remember to mark your calendars for Saturday, December 14 at 6 PM. Bundle up, grab a cup of hot cocoa, and come enjoy all the festive fun along the new route! The cold weather sure won’t matter when you’re surrounded by the joyous sounds of the holidays and friendly faces in Elizabethton.
