A Musical Gift to the Community
This year’s concert promises to be a delightful experience, featuring a handpicked repertoire that will resonate with audiences of all ages. The lineup includes the enchanting works of renowned composer John Rutter with pieces like “Rejoice and Be Merry” and “I Too Shall Walk to Bethlehem.” Get ready to sway along with classics such as “The Wexford Carol” and “In the Bleak Midwinter.” And let’s not forget the heartwarming arrangement of “The First Noel” by Dan Forrest!
One of the highlights of the evening is sure to be the ever-popular singalong. So warm up those vocal cords, because you’ll want to join in and belt out some merry carols with your friends and neighbors!
Community Collaboration
The concert is directed by the talented Debbie Gouge, with the musical magic being created alongside the wonderful Susan Heaton, who will serve as the accompanist. They are dedicated to bringing joy and harmony to the community through music.
But that’s not all! The concert will also feature the First United Methodist handbell choir, aptly named Small But Mighty, which will join in for a spectacular finale that is not to be missed. Their unique sound adds a magical twist to the traditional holiday music we all love.
Adding more flair to the evening, there will be stunning instrumental duets presented by the talented duo of Susan Heaton and Scott Reynolds. It’s a perfect way to showcase a blend of vocal and instrumental performances that will fill the church with warmth and joy.
What If It Rains?
In typical December fashion, Elizabethton may face some unpredictable weather. If, by chance, Mother Nature decides to sprinkle a little rain on our parade, the concert will be postponed to Monday, December 16. So, be sure to mark your calendars and keep an eye on the weather forecast!
