The patriotic city of Elizabethton is gearing up to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country. The Veterans Oversight Committee has announced that the much-awaited Annual Memorial Day Ceremony will take place at the Elizabethton-Carter County Veterans War Memorial on Monday, May 27, at 11 a.m.
Established to commemorate the soldiers who lost their lives in the line of duty, the ceremony pays a heartfelt tribute to a total of 258 brave men and women from Carter County. These valorous individuals defended the rights and freedom of their compatriots, putting their nation before their own lives.
