Elizabethton Class of 1957 Celebrates 27 Years of Scholarships
The Class of 1957 from Elizabethton High School marked 27 years of awarding academic scholarships at their recent reunion, which was held in late June at The Black Olive Restaurant. This long-standing tradition started back in 1997, following their 40th reunion. Upon reflection, these former students decided to use a leftover amount of $150 to set up a scholarship fund. The purpose behind this initiative was to financially support the education of five deserving students from their alma mater.

Over the years, the fund has grown, providing an essential monetary boost to numerous students to continue their higher education pursuits. The selection of the scholarship recipients falls into the hands of the school’s guidance counsellors. They are responsible for nominating students and providing their profiles to the Class of 1957 for final selection.
