Excitement Builds in Kingsport for the CSX Santa Train Arrival

Excitement Grows in Kingsport for the Arrival of the CSX Santa Train!

Kingsport, Tenn. is buzzing with joy as the CSX Santa Train prepares to embark on its magical journey this year! With the holiday spirit in full swing, volunteers from across the region came together at the local Food City for an annual event that warms the heart: the Santa Train packing party.

A Wonderful Community Effort

This year’s packing party was nothing short of fantastic, as community members rolled up their sleeves to stuff boxes full of food and gifts for children in need. Thanks to the generous support of Coca-Cola Consolidated, who donated a whopping $20,000, the event saw raised spirits and happy faces all around. Half of that generous donation went directly to Food City to ensure that the Santa Train could deliver holiday cheer to many families.

Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds came out to lend a helping hand, proving that the spirit of giving is truly alive and well in Kingsport. Eddie Reineke, a first-time attendee from Roanoke, Virginia, traveled over two and a half hours just to participate. “I’m so happy to help. It feels great to give back, especially during the holidays!” he exclaimed, a smile lighting up his face.

Team Bonding with a Purpose

Among the enthusiastic volunteers was Abby-Jay Jardines, a senior at Dobyns-Bennett High School who proudly represents her school on the bowling team. For her and her teammates, the packing party has become an annual tradition. “It’s really turned into a team bonding event for us. We all love coming together to make a difference,” she shared. It’s clear that this event not only spreads cheer to the kids but also strengthens community ties.

A Tradition of Giving

Food City leaders noted that this event has been a cherished tradition for decades, growing in significance and warmth with each passing year. A large number of volunteers rising to the occasion year after year showcases the community’s commitment to lighting up the holidays for less fortunate families.

The Santa Train Journey

Mark your calendars, folks! The much-anticipated CSX Santa Train will be departing on Saturday, November 23rd. The excitement surrounding this event brings many families out to witness the train’s arrival, igniting the holiday spirit in everyone. This whimsical train ride carries not only gifts but also a message of love and hope to those who need it most.

With the packing party now completed, the next step is getting those gifts aboard the train, ready to spread holiday cheer to children across the region. The collaborations and enthusiasm demonstrated by everyone involved make it clear that Kingsport truly comes together during the holiday season.

If you’re in the area, don’t miss out on witnessing the joy of the CSX Santa Train as it rolls through town, bringing smiles and happiness to children in the community. It’s an event that embodies the true essence of giving and serves as a reminder of just how special this time of year can be.
