Johnson City to Host Community Input Workshop for Growth Management Plan

Next Step in the Horizon 2045 Plan

City officials in Johnson City, Tennessee are paving the way for the development of their new 20-year growth management strategy, known as the Horizon 2045 plan. This initiative will guide the city’s growth and development over the next two decades. One of the essential elements they believe, is community input. Therefore, they are making efforts to encourage public engagement in the process.

As the city approaches the closing stages of soliciting public opinion, officials have scheduled another public input workshop. This event will take place on Thursday, February 29 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Indian Trail Middle School. It is hoped that the event will allow the citizens’ voices and ideas to be heard and considered in shaping the city’s future.

Importance of Public Input

Will Righter, Director of Planning and Development Services, emphasizes the significance of public input in developing the city’s management plan. “A plan is only as good as the input you receive, and we want to hear from the citizens. We had a turnout of about hundred people at the community workshop, which is a large number. However, we’d like to see 200, 300 show up at this next one
