Cat Island Park is Getting a Makeover!
Hey there, Elizabethton! Are you ready for some exciting news? The Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department is looking to revamp our beloved Cat Island Park and they want to hear from YOU! That’s right, your voice matters in shaping the future of this community gem.
Have Your Say!
To kick off the planning process, the Parks and Recreation team is inviting all community members to fill out a survey or drop by a special meeting coming up soon. This is your chance to share your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions about what you want to see in the park.
Mark your calendars! The drop-in meeting is scheduled for Friday, February 14, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Swing by the Pine Room at the Tetrick Community Center, located at 1509 W. Elk Ave. The best part? You can stop by anytime during those hours, so it’s super easy to fit it into your day! No need for a formal appointment.
Can’t Make It to the Meeting?
No worries if you can’t join the meeting in person! You can still share your thoughts through an online survey. Just hop over to www.surveymonkey.com/r/ElizabethtonRecSurv to make your voice heard.
From February 10-13, keep an eye out for QR codes popping up all around Elizabethton that link directly to the survey! You’ll find them in various spots like downtown restaurants, the Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library, City Hall, and—of course—the Tetrick Community Center. How convenient is that?
Additionally, you can find the survey links shared on the Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Facebook page, the City of Elizabethton Facebook page, and the city’s official website at www.elizabethton.org. It’s all about making it easy for everyone to chime in!
What’s in Store for Cat Island Park?
Exciting changes are on the horizon! The city is already gearing up to restore the softball and Little League fields that were affected by the Doe River Flood following Hurricane Helene back in September 2024. Reconstruction efforts are set to begin shortly, with an aim to have the improved parks ready to roll by the start of the new season in April 2025.
