Carter County Sheriff’s Office Reports Recent Arrests

Several Arrests Made Over The Last Few Days

The Carter County Sheriff’s Office has reported a series of arrests over the past few days. The arrests range from violation of probation to driving under the influence.

Arrests on 22nd February

On February 22, Ricky Joseph Martin Jr. was taken into custody by Sgt. J. Johnson and Deputy Nicholas Gass. Martin had an active warrant for probation violation out of Gwinnett County, Ga., with full extradition. He was transported without an event to the Carter County Detention Center.

On the same day, Larry Scott Kerly was arrested by Lt. Christopher Peek for failing to appear at the Carter County Circuit Court. Deputy Dalton McCloud, meanwhile, charged Ricky Joseph Martin Jr. with being a fugitive from justice due to a crime committed in another state.

Beside them, Christopher Robert Keenan was taken into custody at Sinking Creek Baptist Church by Deputy Jeff Winters for a violation of probation detected by the General Sessions Court of Carter County. Later, Deputy Heath Taylor arrested Zachery Montana Orren for a violation of community corrections.

Arrests on 21st February

February 21 witnessed the arrest of Rico Shane Taylor for driving under the influence, which is his first offense. After failing standardized field sobriety tests, Taylor was taken into custody and subsequently transported to the Carter County Detention Center.

A separate incident also saw Deputies Dalton McCloud and R. Huskins arresting Ericka Devin Dales for an active warrant due to her failure to appear at the Carter County General Session Court.

Furthemore, Natosha Dale Benfield was arrested by Deputy Dalton McCloud for a warrant relating to a probation violation. Another arrest was made of Marcos Garcia Alonozo, who was charged with underage impaired driving.

Arrests on 20th February

On February 20, Nicky Ray McKinney was taken into custody for an aggravated criminal trespass and possession of methamphetamine. This arrest was executed after he was found in a residence by Sgt. Robert Scott and Deputy Donovan Bemiller.

In a different circumstance, Joshua Lee Davis was taken into custody at Johnson County Jail for a violation of probation.

Arrests on 19th February

On February 19, Deputy Donovan Bemiller took Barry Eugene Spicer into custody from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office. Spicer had an active warrant for failing to appear at the Carter County General Sessions Court.

All arrestees were transported to the Carter County Detention Center without any incident and are being held until further notice. However, all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
