Carter County Murder Suspect on the Run

Carter County Murder Suspect on the Run

In a shocking development from Carter County, the local Sheriff’s Office is now on a manhunt for a suspect behind the gruesome murder of a resident. The suspect, identified as Jim Chambers of Elizabethton, is assumed to have an integral role in the death of Edward Elliot, a 64-year-old man.

Edward Elliot’s Mysterious Disappearance

Elliot was reported missing on March 31, but his family members indicated they hadn’t engaged in any communication with him since late January. The uncertainty of Elliot’s whereabouts took a tragic turn when his body was found on May 15th, buried in a freezer in a secluded part of Hampton.

Arrest Warrant Issued for Jim Chambers

In light of the investigation, the Carter County Sheriff’s Office has issued an arrest warrant for Jim Chambers on the charge of first-degree murder. There are allegations that Chambers, along with Joey Guinn, were seen assaulting Elliot during an incident that took place in late January or early February.

Another Suspect Apprehended

Joey Guinn, 46, has already been arrested in connection with Elliot’s murder and faces numerous charges, including murder and the abuse of a corpse. Following his arraignment, Guinn has been detained on a $5 million bond.

Call for Public Assistance

The sheriff’s office is actively seeking information from the community that could aid in locating Chambers. A substantial reward has been extended for details that can lead to his arrest. Residents of Carter County are encouraged to come forward and cooperate with the law enforcement authorities to expedite the resolution of this case.

While the search intensifies, the dynamics surrounding this murder continue to horrify the Carter County community. This unusual and brutal crime has been a stark reminder of the importance of maintaining vigilant communities.

A Plea to the Community

The Carter County Sheriff’s Office implores those aware of Chambers’ whereabouts to step forward with any information. It is a plea not just for justice for Edward Elliot and his family but also for the assurance of the citizens’ safety.

The story continues to unfold, and it is held with breathless anticipation that the suspect will be soon apprehended and brought to justice.
