Bristol, Tennessee Disaster Relief Center Announces New Operating Hours and Volunteer Opportunities

Bristol, Tennessee: New Hours for the Disaster Relief Center

It’s been a whirlwind of activity here in Bristol, Tennessee, as the community continues to rally together in support of those affected by recent disasters. We have some important updates regarding the Northeast Tennessee Disaster Relief Center located at the iconic Bristol Motor Speedway. Caring locals and volunteers have poured their hearts and resources into this initiative, and you can be part of it too!

Updated Hours of Operation

First things first! If you’re planning to visit the Disaster Relief Center, you’ll want to note the new hours:

  • Sunday, October 20: 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
  • October 21-26: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

These adjusted hours make it easier for those in need to access vital resources, and they also give volunteers the chance to offer their help throughout the week.

What to Donate

If you’re considering donating to the center, there are a few items on the wish list that could really make a difference:

  • Food items that do not require refrigeration
  • Personal hygiene products
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Blankets and warm clothing
  • Pet supplies for our furry friends

While there’s tremendous enthusiasm surrounding the drive, it’s just as important to know what is no longer needed at this time. Please refrain from donating:

  • Clothing (used)
  • Used appliances
  • Furniture

By keeping the focus on the most needed items, we can ensure that the center operates as efficiently as possible in helping those affected by the disasters.

Get Involved!

Are you looking to lend a helping hand? The center is actively seeking volunteers who can assist in various roles. Whether you have a few hours to spare or can commit to a longer schedule, every bit of assistance helps tremendously!

Volunteer hours are as follows:

  • Sunday: 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Monday to Saturday: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

To get involved, you can easily register at www.volunteer-united.org. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, connect with your community, and really make an impact in someone’s life.

Join the Movement

In these challenging times, it’s heartwarming to witness the spirit of generosity and teamwork ebbing throughout Bristol. Each donation, no matter how small, adds up and can help a family start to rebuild their life.

If you are in need of assistance, or know someone who is, please direct them to the Disaster Relief Center during the operational hours mentioned above. Remember, every small act of kindness can lead to significant change!

Thanks to our awesome community members for stepping up and showing what it means to look after one another. Together, we can make a real difference!
