State Liners New Home in the Making
In a significant development from Bristol, Tennessee, the City Council has entered into talks to renovate the Tod Houston Memorial Field to become the new home ground of the local Appalachian League team, the Bristol State Liners. The Bristol State Liners were scheduled to start off this year’s season with a spanking new state-of-the-art facility at White Top Creek Park, a project conceptualized as a partnership between the city and Boyd Sports. However, this fell through after Boyd Sports, the owner of all other local Appalachian League team, decided to back out unexpectedly.
Season Without a Home
Following this setback, the State Liners have had to plough through the season without a designated home stadium. They have been conducting practice sessions at the Tusculum University while their home games have been played at different stadiums within the Appy League.
The recent developments have consequently heightened the team’s need for a permanent home ground, with the city council now exploring the possibility of using some of the plans initially conceptualized for the White Top project to revamp and upgrade the Tod Houston Memorial Field.
