Bristol Gears Up for a Star-Spangled Independence Day Celebration

On Thursday, July 4, Downtown Bristol in Tennessee is readying itself for a vibrant red, white and blue festival with its annual Star-Spangled Independence Day Celebration. Packed with an exciting array of family-friendly activities, a parade marching through the city streets, live music performances, and a grand fireworks display to finish off a day of patriotic festivities.

The Parade

The Independence Day event will begin with a patriotic parade that is set to start at 5 p.m. on the iconic State Street. The parade through the heart of Bristol has come to be a long-cherished annual tradition. Crowds will line the streets, brimming with excitement, as they spectate the colorful floats, marching bands, and community groups celebrate the nation’s independence.

Entertainment and Food

After the parade, activities will move to the transformed Anderson Park located at 341 Martin Luther King Boulevard. Attendees can enjoy a variety of kid-friendly activities, carnival-style games, and complimentary inflatables. Food and drinks enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice with an assortment of food trucks serving mouth-watering delights. A beer garden serving a variety of refreshing beverages will also be open to guests throughout the evening.

Appreciation Ceremony and Concert

At 6:30 p.m, there will be a special veteran appreciation ceremony, following by some fun and patriotic on-stage games for the crowd. As night begins to fall, the award-winning Border Bash concert series will take center stage at 7 p.m. This year’s concert will feature performances from Bristol Lightning and SCYTHIAN, delivering a mix of lively folk tunes and high-energy rock anthems.

Fireworks Display

Finally, the celebration will culminate in a spectacular fireworks display at around 10 p.m. The fireworks display is being generously sponsored by the cities of Bristol, TN and Bristol, VA, Eastman Credit Union, Stateline Services, and New Peoples Bank. This display is a much-anticipated event each year and is sure to light up the Bristol skyline with a stunning array of colors.
