Bristol Community Launches Annual Blanket Drive to Help Families in Need

Bristol’s Heartwarming Blanket Drive Kicks Off

In the charming city of Bristol, straddling the state lines of Tennessee and Virginia, the spirit of giving back is alive and well. As winter approaches, the Bristol TN/VA Association of Realtors (BTVAR) has launched its much-anticipated annual blanket drive. This year, the drive runs from November 15 to December 15, inviting everyone in the community to lend a helping hand to families still recovering from the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene.

How You Can Help

The blanket drive seeks donations of new blankets and sleeping bags. These items are crucial for individuals and families in need as they face the cold months ahead. The donations will be distributed to various organizations in both Tennessee and Virginia that are dedicated to assisting those affected by the hurricane. Whether it’s a cozy throw for snuggling up on the couch or a practical sleeping bag for those still in temporary housing, every contribution matters.

Drop-off Locations

If you’re wondering how you can get involved, the process is simple! You can drop off your donations at designated locations across the region. The main collection hub is at the BTVAR office located at 1203 Edgemont Ave, Bristol, Tennessee. They’ll be accepting blanket donations until December 15, but mark your calendars—boxes will be collected the week of December 9.

For those who prefer online shopping, you can also contribute through a BTVAR Amazon Wishlist, making it easy to donate from the comfort of your own home. Imagine sitting on your couch, picking out a lovely blanket or sleeping bag, and knowing it will warm someone in need this winter. It’s a win-win!

A Community Effort

The annual blanket drive serves as a wonderful reminder of the strength and unity of the Bristol community. Last year, residents came together to donate hundreds of blankets, showcasing the incredible generosity that defines this area. This year, with the lingering effects of Hurricane Helene still impacting many families, the need is even greater. Each blanket and sleeping bag can provide warmth and comfort during these chilly months.

Looking Forward to a Cozy Season

As we approach the holiday season, this blanket drive highlights the importance of coming together to support one another. What a fantastic way to spread warmth and kindness during a time of year that should be filled with love and community spirit!

So, whether you’re rummaging through your closet for extra blankets or planning to purchase a few new ones, remember that your contribution can make a significant difference. Join us in helping those in need so that no one in our beloved Bristol community has to face the cold alone this winter.

If you have any questions or need further information about the blanket drive, don’t hesitate to reach out to local organizers or visit the BTVAR office. Together, we can spread warmth and care to everyone in Bristol this holiday season!
