The BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Foundation has made an exciting announcement this week regarding the city’s reputable public space, Kingsport’s Riverwalk Park. The Foundation has committed an impressive $7.8 Million investment for a significant park improvements project.
The allocated funds will be used to create what is to be known as the BlueCross Blue Shield Healthy Space. This new and improved setup will include three pickleball courts, a fully equipped play area for the city’s younger residents, and a dedicated kayak/canoe launch ramp for water sports enthusiasts.
The majority of the foundation’s funding, which amounts to $6.5 million, is targeted towards these park enhancements, while an additional $1.3 million has already been earmarked for ongoing maintenance of the upgraded park facilities.
