Johnson City, are you ready for an unforgettable night filled with heartwarming music and community support? The ETSU Martin Center for the Arts is excited to announce that the incredible 49 Winchester will be hitting the stage for a special benefit concert on Saturday, November 30 at 7:30 p.m. This isn’t just any show; it’s a chance for all of us to come together and lend a hand to those affected by Hurricane Helene in our neighboring areas, including East Tennessee, Western North Carolina, and Southwest Virginia.
This concert is more than just a night of great music. It is a collective effort to help our friends and families who are struggling in the aftermath of the hurricane. All proceeds from ticket sales, which range from $30 to $40, will go directly to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee. This organization has been on the front lines, providing critical support to communities in need, ensuring that no one has to go hungry during these tough times.
49 Winchester, hailing from the heart of Virginia, has made a name for themselves with their unique blend of country, rock, and folk music. Their lyrics are not just catchy; they resonate deeply, reflecting the experiences and values of those living in Appalachia. The band believes in the power of music to bring people together and fosters an environment of love and support within the community.
Bassist and founding member Chase Chafin shared their thoughts on giving back, saying, “49 Winchester is very proud to be from this region and looking after each other is a huge part of the ethos of Appalachia. When something tragic happens, it affects all of us.” This concert, coming at the end of their touring season, is not just a performance but a heartfelt plea for support for those in need.
Since 1986, Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee has been a beacon of hope for hungry families across eight counties: Carter, Greene, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi, and Washington. In the past year alone, they distributed an impressive 10.8 million meals! By supporting this benefit concert, you are contributing to an organization that is dedicated to turning the tide on hunger and improving food security for thousands of individuals in our community.
Now is your chance to be part of this wonderful event! Not only will you get to enjoy the incredible sounds of 49 Winchester, but you’ll also be part of a larger movement to help those in distress. You can grab your tickets by visiting the ETSU Martin Center’s official website or by giving the box office a call at 423-439-2787. Mark your calendars, rally your friends and family, and let’s show our neighbors the love and support they need to recover from this disaster!
Let’s come together as a community on November 30 to share an evening of music, hope, and healing. Together, we can make a difference!
