This recognition takes into account the city’s urban forestry management, its tree care ordinances, and its spending towards the conservation of parks and green spaces.

This standard of excellence has become a tradition in Kingsport, reiterating that the city is committed not just to urban development, but also to the protection of its natural resources for the betterment of its community.

A Community Event

They are the young custodians of the future who need to understand the importance of maintaining a healthy environment. The celebrations at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School were designed to impart this valuable lesson to the students.

The activities of the day were also a great way for community members, city officials, and students to interact, thus strengthening communal bonds while working towards a common cause of environmental conservation.

The Arbor Day celebration was not only an occasion to recognize Kingsport’s commitment to maintaining a healthy urban forest but also a day to celebrate the spirit of community and environmental consciousness that runs deep in the city’s ethos.
