Get ready, Elizabethton! The Elizabethton Senior Center is rolling out a delightful schedule of activities to celebrate Valentine’s Week, starting from February 1 to February 14. Located at 428 East G Street, this is the place to be for seniors looking to stay active and engaged. Mark your calendars, because you won’t want to miss out!
Daily Highlights Awaiting You
The Senior Center’s doors are open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday to Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 12 noon on Fridays. You can drop in anytime to enjoy the billiard and fitness rooms—no appointments needed! The center has planned a fantastic array of activities that are both fun and beneficial for your health.
Monday Shenanigans (February 1)
- 9 a.m. – Get your heart pumping with Just Keep Movin’, a group cardio and strength class.
- 11 a.m. – Enjoy a delicious lunch featuring breaded chicken tenders.
- 12 p.m. – Relax with Yoga Farm Massages, but don’t forget to sign up!
- 12:15 p.m. – Try out Chair Yoga with instructor Shirley for just $3.
- 1 p.m. – Wind down with Gentle Flow Yoga led by Cindy, also just $3.
Tuesday Fun (February 2)
- 9 – 10 a.m. – Join the Stay Strong – Stay Healthy course, a free 8-week program focusing on strength and flexibility.
- 10 a.m. – Get crafty with a Valentine’s Snack-n-Craft; please sign up for this fun activity!
- 11 a.m. – Savor lunch featuring BBQ pork riblet.
- 12 – 1 p.m. – Dance your heart out with Line Dancing for only $3.
Midweek Motivation (February 3)
- 9 a.m. – Another round of Just Keep Movin’ to keep those spirits high!
- 11 a.m. – Lunch will feature an egg patty and sausage combo.
- 12:15 p.m. – Chair Yoga keeps rolling at $3.
- 1 p.m. – Join in for more Gentle Flow Yoga for $3.
Thrilling Thursday (February 4)
- 9 – 10 a.m. – Continue the strength program with Stay Strong – Stay Healthy.
- 10 a.m. – Engage in a fun Body-Brain-Boost session to challenge your mind and body.
- 11 a.m. – Warm up with chunky chicken and veggie soup for lunch.
- 1 p.m. – All veterans are invited for the Vet-2-Vet Café, a supportive gathering sponsored by Caris Healthcare.
Fabulous Friday Finale (February 5)
- 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Join the Valentine’s Silent Auction & Luncheon Fundraiser. Tickets are just $10 and include lunch plus access to auction items!
Community Volunteer Opportunities and Improvements
The Senior Center always welcomes volunteers, especially those willing to help as drivers for home-delivered meals. Anyone aged 55 and older is welcome to become a member and access a variety of services and programs.
Also, the center is seeking input regarding recreational improvements at Cat Island Park. Join a drop-in meeting scheduled for February 14, or participate in an online survey available from February 10-13.
