Voting Changes Announcement

Voting Changes in Carter County Ahead of November Election

As the November general election draws near, residents of Carter County, Tennessee, have some important updates regarding voting precincts. Due to recent flooding damage, the county has made adjustments to where some of the locals will cast their votes this year, and it’s essential to stay informed!

Relocated Precincts

Tracy Harris, the Carter County Administrator of Elections, has announced that the precinct located at Hampton High School will be relocating to Hampton Elementary School. If you usually vote at the high school, don’t worry! The elementary school already has an established precinct. However, this newly relocated voting area will be set up in a different section of the building to accommodate those making their way to the polls.

Additionally, voters from the Elk Mills area will also see a change. They will be casting their votes at the Little Milligan Elementary School for the upcoming election. Fortunately, it’s good news for residents of Cloudland High School, as that precinct remains unaffected by the flooding and will continue to operate at its usual location.

What to Expect During Early Voting

Early voting is just around the corner! It starts on October 16 and goes until October 31. If you prefer to vote early, all you need to do is visit the Carter County Election Office, located at 116 Holston Avenue in Elizabethton. The office will be open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and even on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until noon.

Need More Information?

If you have any questions or need assistance regarding the voting changes or anything else related to the election, you can easily reach out to the election office. A quick call to (423) 542-1822 can get you the answers you’re looking for. It’s always a good idea to double-check your voting location, especially with these changes.

Make sure to plan ahead as we approach the election. Whether you choose to vote early or head out on Election Day, knowing where to go will save you time and potential frustration.

In conclusion, with the recent flooding impacting some locations in Carter County, understanding the new voting arrangements is key.
