Milligan University to Host the Prestigious Stone-Campbell Journal Conference

In an impressive academic event, Milligan University has been announced as the host of the 23rd annual Stone-Campbell Journal Conference. The two-day gathering will commence on Friday, April 12, running from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and continue on Saturday, April 13, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Stone-Campbell Movement: Uniting Believers

The Stone-Campbell Movement, celebrating restoration of New Testament Christianity and unity of all believers, will be the central focus of the conference. Comprised of various independent churches, this Movement is actively connected with Milligan University.

President’s Remarks on Hosting the Conference

Strongly enthused about hosting this year’s event, Milligan University’s President, Dr. Bill Greer said, “Milligan and Emmanuel have always had a strong presence at the Stone-Campbell Journal Conference, hence we are excited about this opportunity. This conference will be a significant display of the academic work within the Stone-Campbell tradition.”

A Gathering of Scholars: Creating a Platform for Discourse

This year’s conference will witness the presence of 175 scholars representing over 25 distinguished colleges, universities, and seminaries from across the nation. The attending educational institutions include Emmanuel Christian Seminary at Milligan, Abilene Christian University, Phillips Theological Seminary, Emory University, Wake Forest University, and Fuller Theological Seminary.

Keynote Speakers & Discussions

The conference’s featured speakers include Dr. Miriam Perkins, professor of theology and society at Emmanuel; Dr. Love Sechrest, professor of theology at Mount St. Mary’s University; and Dr. Daniel Rodriguez, professor of religion and Hispanic studies from Pepperdine University.
